Sing Around the House
One fond memory I have of my childhood was hearing my mom singing around the house.
This was interesting because my mother was always afraid of my father hearing her sing as my father was a well loved singer during high school and later sang solos in church. However, when my father was out of the house, my mother sang as she did the household chores.

Not only that, but when my sister and I were old enough to help her do the dishes, we sang rounds together as she washed the dishes and we dried. One song we learned from my sister was one her teacher taught the class around Halloween time. I’m not much of a fan of Halloween today because I am very much against what it stands for and what some people do on that day. However, the song my sister learned was in a minor key, and while my sister and I could catch onto the tune, my mother somehow ended up converting it into a major key. And my sister and I would laugh as we would try over and over to get her to catch on to the minor key.
But, I am so happy my mother enjoyed singing with us. She had a way of turning chores into joyful activities, and she was and still is a great mom.
Take time to make family rituals. They make joyful memories that will never be forgotten. They bring memories of happy times and bring expectations of joy whenever you come together again.
